immortal vs. benny hill

Norwegian black metal band Immortal have been parodied all over the internet.  You may recognize their painted faces from sites listing The 10 Most Ridiculous Black Metal Pictures. There was also a wave of photoshopped images poking fun at them:

All of this has helped entertain my idle mind in the past, but this video that I found on Youtube takes the cake!!

why, yes. i am made of awesome.

The Periodic Table of Awesoments
As fantastically provided to the world by Dapperstache.

“In the 300 B.C. years, before the birth of black Jesus, Aristole postulated that all good things were made of “win.” That was a pretty good guess, but he was drunk and probably also having an orgy. Modern day awesominers know there are actually 118 fundamental “awesoments” that compose all good things. The Periodic table of Awesoments can be a very useful tool. It’s designed to show the relationships between awesoments, and often one can even predict how awesoments interact simply by their positions on the table.”

**Note: A slight revision to the Awesoments has been made since being offered up to the interwebs by Dapperstache and then reported on by Laughing Squid. Due to public outcry for all that is just, The Revolution has been added to the Periodic Table of Awesoments as #100. Just down the line from Skulls (#92), Scars (#93) and Tattoos (#94).

The Gypsy Queen Movement

About a month ago, I recieved an invite to join the GA Chapter of The Gypsy Queens.  I’d heard of them before but needed to do a little additional research before sending in my application.  Needless to say, I liked what I saw and am now a member.  I am Bettie Spades GAGQ.

Before long I found myself the head of not one but two departments: Lifers Dept. and the Art Dept.

The Lifer’s Dept. basically keeps up with membership and status of the girls.  Records, if you will.  An increasingly significant task as we are growing and adding girls weekly if not daily.

.

The Art Dept. is focusing on the Georgia Art Communities specifically centered around Atlanta.  We wish to work along with, team up and promote our local artists and their projects.  This also includes performance art: your burlesque, firedancers, etc.

Our chapter is new but off to a great start!  I am enthusiastic and look foward to busting my bum to help make the GAGQ’s everything that I feel we can be!

You ask me, “What are the Gypsy Queens?”  Let me share with you a blurb from the main Gypsy Queen Movement site page:

The Gypsy Queens are a Worldwide Sisterhood made up of Tattooed Women whose goal is to promote a positive image of women with ink. We are a sisterhood, NOT a corporation, that is run entirely by female members. There is No Nudity involved in being a Gypsy Queen. We feel that women should not have to be nude in order to be appreciated for their artwork. We feel that there are many women out there that would be proud to show off their ink if nudity were not involved. The Gypsy Queens do Promotions for Tattoo Conventions, Tattoo Shops, Tattoo Artists, Clothing Lines. Product Lines, Roller Derby Events, Hot-Rod Events, Biker Events, Sideshows, Music Festivals, Photographers, X-Treme Sports Events, Rock Shows, Record Release Parties, Art Galleries, Clubs, & many more! We also like to give back to the community by holding fund raisers & charity events. By doing so we hope to change the misconceptions held by the “norms” of society. Strong, intelligent, artistic women have been held back by the stigma of the tramp stamp! We all know it’s wrong to judge a book by it’s cover, yet we still get dirty looks in stores and restaurants,or at school when we pick up our children. It’s the high and mighty norms who play judge and jury, the desperate housewives and their soccer mom prejudices that we want to change! We are no less deserving of respect, just because we choose to be individuals instead of being shallow and mindless carbon copies going to the mall in range rovers to buy more shoes! We like music, art, literature, and self expression! We are above the stereotypes! WE ARE THE GYPSY QUEENS!!!

Does that help?  I hope so!  Keep an eye out here at The Revolution for GQ events and promotions.  We have a lot of really neat things coming up!!

Hey- any artists, musicians, clothing lines, etc. that wish to work with us speak up!
